The PolyPhaser TSX-NFF-P lightning surge protector offers bi-directional protection from 698-2700 MHz. It offers excellent surge performance based on its patented coil inductor design. It is weatherproof when installed. It is RoHS compliant.
The TSX-NFF-P is a low-PIM lightning surge protector. PIM, or passive intermodulation, is form of distortion that occurs in devices like antennas as a result of nonlinearities in the system. It can be caused by dissimilar materials, design flaws, or corrosion by weather or age. PIM can cause significant disruption to system performance. The TSX-NFF-P has been designed with all these factors in mind to minimise PIM.
We recommend using a lightning surge protector in most cases, but particularly if you are installing your signal booster kit in an area with frequent lightning. The outside antenna is positioned high on your building, made of metal and exposed to the elements - very attractive to lightning! We recommend placing the surge protector between the outside antenna and the amplifier unit to protect the amplifier.
