The Verizon Jetpack MiFi's have 2 external antenna ports and so require one of our 2x2 MIMO antennas. We have the 2x2 MIMO Panel Antenna Kit, which is the best for most users, and the 2x2 MIMO Log periodic Antenna Kit, which has better performance but requires line-of-sight to the nearest cell tower.
For more details on both these options you can read the specific install guides on the Verizon Jetpack MiFi 8800L or Verizon Jetpack MiFi 7730L page.
Verizon has a number of routers that unfortunately do not have antenna ports either on the outside, or easily accessible on the inside. If you have one of these routers then unfortunately you will not be able to use one of our antennas with your kit. We do have some guides on how you can improve performance for the following:
If you are unsure what router you have you can reach out to us via email at [email protected], or call us at +1-800-761-3041 and we can help!
QuadPro's highly directional gain can help improve signal up to 20 miles from the tower, and will work even if there are trees, buildings or other obstacles between you and the tower. QuadMini is an omnidirectional antenna and benefits from being a little bit closer to the tower, but it can improve signal quite far from the tower.
The exact range of the antenna depends on the bands you're connecting on - the 20 mile number above assumes you're connecting on the 600 MHz n71 band that Verizon uses for broad coverage, but the maximum distance is lower for higher frequency bands.
That being said: we don't recommend buying our antennas if you have no signal at all outdoors. If you have to drive away from your location to get Verizon coverage, an external antenna probably isn't a good fit, but feel free to reach out so we can help you.
The boost can be substantial, often up to 2x or even as much as 20x your current speeds. Unfortunately it's hard for us to predict the exact number as it depends on your current speeds and the signal conditions in your area. And subtler increases are definitely possible: some users see smaller increases of just 10% or 20%.
The best way to find out is to give it a shot! Every kit we sell comes with a 90 day money-back guarantee - so if you're unhappy you can just ship the kit back to us for a refund.
If you want to get an idea of the improvement in data rates before you purchase, one simple test is to simply take your existing gateway outdoors with an extension cable to see if you see an improvement in data rates. If you do, then using an external MIMO antenna is very likely to get you better results.
Absolutely! QuadPro and QuadMini are carefully engineered to maximize gain while minimizing the impact of trees, buildings and other obstacles on your signal reception. Unlike our Log Periodic or Grid Parabolic antennas, which require line of sight to the tower for best performance, QuadPro works well whether or not you have line of sight, and QuadMini is even more forgiving still.
We've thought of everything to make installing an external antenna as user-friendly as possible. Our complete kits include all the hardware you'll need, including multiple mounting options and a window entry cable so you don't need to drill holes. Our detailed manual provides thoughtful, step-by-step instructions for a seamless setup.
The most challenging aspect of the install is modifying your Gateway to add external antenna ports, which can be accomplished by DIY novices in around half an hour. We have detailed guides at the bottom of this page to walk you through every step of this too.
If you need help as you're getting set up, our team of signal specialists is just a call or email away.
Yes! QuadMini and QuadPro are specifically designed to be fully compatible with every Verizon Home Internet router. They supports all frequencies utilized by Verizon 5G Home Internet services, so no matter which band or technology you're using to connect, our antennas will help.
The only requirement may be a minor modification to your Verizon router to add external antenna ports. Not to worry, we provide detailed guides to assist you throughout the process.
The UltraFlex-Quad Cables included in our kits come in 10 ft and 20 ft lengths, and are fully modular. That gives you flexibility to extend your cables to any length that you need, in 10 ft increments.
There's no minimum distance between the antenna and your router - during setup you'll search for the spot for with the best signal reception to unlock the full potential of your Verizon Home Internet. If you need longer cables than what are available on the product pages, please reach out to our team so we can help get you set up with a custom kit.
Absolutely! Both QuadPro and QuadMini are engineered to fully support 5G networks, along with previous cellular generations such as 3G and 4G LTE. They covers an ultra-wide frequency range of 600-6000 MHz, which includes all the 5G and 4G bands utilized by Verizon Home Internet today.
When it comes to selecting the ideal antenna, it's essential to consider your unique needs and installation options. For most people, QuadPro's 9.1 dBi gain and directional 'beam' will result in better performance, but it requires aiming, so installation is slightly more complex. If you're looking for the easiest possible installation, QuadMini's omnidirectional gain and multiple mounting options make it extremely simple to install outdoors, indoors, or in RVs.
We recommend using a 4x4 antenna for Verizon Home Internet. Since your gateway device has 4 antenna ports, using just a 2x2 antenna would leave you needing to figure out which ports to connect to..
If you find yourself uncertain about the best fit for your setup, don't fret. Our team loves nerding out about unique situations and providing personalized support. We'll guide you to make an informed decision that aligns perfectly with your specific requirements.
Our mission here at Waveform is to make reliable connectivity easy.
If - for whatever reason - you find yourself anything less than delighted with your QuadMini or QuadPro Kit, you can simply ship it back to us for a refund. We stand behind our antenna with a 90-day return policy because we want to make sure you're 100% satisfied with your decision to buy an antenna from us.
Navigating the world of signal and antennas can feel overwhelming, especially if you're new to the subject. Don't worry, we're here to assist you every step of the way.
