The Complete Guide to SureCall Signal Boosters

SureCall is based in Fremont, California. Since 2001, they have been making signal boosters that improve coverage from within a small vehicle, to industrial systems that cover up to 80,000 sq ft and beyond.

We’ve been selling SureCall products since 2008 and the feedback from our customers is consistently excellent. SureCall boosters are dependable - they reliably deliver the coverage they promise. There’s an enormous variety of different kits for different situations, and many of our most popular kits also offer further customization (like different indoor antenna options) to suit even the most unusual building layout.

We’ve developed this guide to help our customers figure out how all the SureCall signal booster kits differ, and which kit would be best for your situation.

There are broadly three different kinds of signal booster systems made by SureCall, and you can jump right to the category you need:

SureCall in-vehicle booster kits (for cars, RV, boats, and trucks)

SureCall kits for homes and small offices

SureCall kits for very large buildings

In-vehicle kits

In-vehicle kits improve cell signal in cars, trucks, RVs, boats, and large commercial vehicles for oil/gas/mining/construction.

All of SureCall’s in-vehicle kits work both while the vehicle is in motion, and when it is stopped. They all boost multiple cell phones (and other cellular devices). In-vehicle kits reduce dropped calls when you’re on the move. They connect in rural and remote locations, reducing signal dead zones. They improve call reception clarity and data speeds.

SureCall offer four different in-vehicle signal booster kits: The Flex2Go 3G, the Flex2Go 3G RV, the Fusion2Go, and the Fusion2Go RV.

The Flex2Go 3G and the Flex2Go 3G RV offer 2G voice and 3G data coverage. They are less expensive than the Fusion2Go and Fusion2Go RV, but they do not support 4G LTE coverage.

They both have the Flex2Go 50dB amplifier. The Flex2Go RV includes more powerful outdoor and indoor antennas. The Flex2Go 3G RV comes with a SC-288W outdoor antenna. This antenna is more powerful than the Flex2Go 3G’s SC-200W antenna, and so it can pick up weaker cell signal, from further away. If you are frequently driving in remote areas with very weak signal, you will probably need the Flex2Go 3G RV’s extra power. The fibreglass SC-288W is also weatherproof and suitable for marine use.

The Flex2Go 3G RV also comes with a different inside antenna. The regular Flex2Go 3G has the lightweight and convenient SC-110W “patch” antenna which offers 1-3 dBi of gain. The Flex2Go 3G RV has the SC-120W “right angle” antenna. This antenna has 3 dBi of gain and attaches directly to the booster unit. The more powerful the inside antenna, the greater the coverage area of boosted signal will be.

The Fusion2Go and the Fusion2Go RV are SureCall’s 4G LTE in-vehicle boosters. They both have the Fusion2Go 50dB amplifier unit.

Just like the Flex2Go 3G kits, the Fusion2Go and Fusion2Go RV have different outdoor and indoor antennas. The Fusion2Go RV has the more powerful SC-288W outside antenna and the SC-120W inside antenna. This means that the Fusion2Go RV can pick up weaker existing signal, from further way than the regular Fusion2Go, and the inside coverage area is greater.

Which do I need?

If you need 4G LTE coverage, you need the Fusion2Go or Fusion2Go RV. If you only need 2G/3G coverage, you need the Flex2Go or Flex2Go RV.

Do I need the RV version or the regular version?

The Flex2Go 3G RV and the Fusion2Go RV are perfect for large vehicles like RVs, trucks, commercial vehicles, and boats. The SC-288W outside antenna is weatherproof and suitable for marine use. The more powerful indoor antennas mean that you will get larger indoor coverage - the regular antennas will only cover a car (and in very weak signal areas, may only improve a couple of feet around the indoor antenna).

You may still want the Flex2Go 3G RV or the Fusion2Go RV even if you have a regular car. The more powerful outside antenna will pick up weaker existing signal, further away from cell towers. If you often drive in remote locations, you might need this extra power for your car.

Other SC in-vehicle kits

SureCall previously offered other in-vehicle options, like the TriFlex2Go. These units have now been discontinued, although some do sometimes become available as Open Box items.

Kits for homes and small offices

There are two important things to check when assessing if a signal booster is right for you. The first is quite straightforward - whether you need 4G LTE coverage, or if 2G/3G coverage is sufficient. The second is the level of existing outdoor coverage you have, and the size of the area you need the booster to cover. Determining these figures is explained in great detail in our general Guide to Site Surveys. In brief, the weaker the existing outdoor signal, and the larger the indoor coverage area required, the more powerful the system you will need. A signal booster system’s power comes from the amplifier it uses, as well as the outdoor and indoor antennas included.

SureCall offer a lot of different consumer booster options for all levels of coverage and power required.

For single rooms and apartments:

The EZ-3G, EZ-4G, and the SureCall Flare are boosters designed especially for small spaces. They are “Easy Install” boosters designed to set up quickly in small spaces.

With the EZ-3G and EZ-4G, the amplifier and the exterior antenna are combined into one unit that is placed in a window. They are extremely easy to install.

They’re great for apartments, condos, or anywhere you can’t mount an antenna on the roof. If you need coverage at your desk in a shared office, or in just one or two rooms, or you can’t drill and run long lengths of cable, the EZ-3G and EZ-4G are great solutions. On the other hand, coverage depends on the existing signal strength at the window - if there’s no cell signal there, the unit will not work. Although set up is straightforward, the indoor antenna must be placed at least 20 feet (and ideally 30 feet) away from the amplifier unit, to prevent oscillation (feedback) and ensure maximum coverage.

The SureCall Flare uses an outdoor omnidirectional antenna and cabling, but combines the indoor antenna and amplifier unit. This makes it great for situations where you have a medium to strong existing outside signal, and you only need to cover 1-2 rooms inside your home or office.

For all three units, the total coverage area is small compared to SureCall’s other booster kits.

For smaller homes and offices:

The SureCall FlexPro 3G offers 2G and 3G voice and data coverage of 2,000 to 6,000 sq ft. It’s a good choice for a home or small office that doesn’t need 4G LTE coverage.

It’s a very customizable kit. It has a choice of either the omnidirectional SC-288W outdoor antenna, or the directional yagi SC-230W-S antenna. The omni antenna has 4dB of gain and is best for covering multiple networks, when existing signal is moderate to strong. The yagi antenna is more powerful with up to 8dB of gain, but it needs to be pointed towards the cell tower to pick up signal. It will only gather signal in that direction, which usually restricts coverage to just one network.

It also has a choice of indoor antennas. The SC-222W omni dome antenna has 6dB gain and is designed for central locations with 360º coverage. It needs to be mounted to the ceiling for best results and you will need to run a cable to the back of the ceiling. Alternatively, the SC-248W directional panel antenna has up to 10dB gain. Panel antennas allow optimum reception to targeted areas. It can be mounted to either the wall or ceiling.

However, if you need 4G LTE coverage, you’ll need the SureCall Fusion4Home. The Fusion4Home has coverage of 2,000 to 4,000 sq ft. There are three different kit options available:

The Fusion4Home Omni/Whip (SC-PolyH-72-ORA-Kit) is suitable for locations with strong existing outside signal (3+ bars) and will cover up to 2,000 sq ft internally (1-2 rooms). The outside antenna is a SureCall SC-289W omni antenna with 4 dBi of gain. Omni-directional antennas receive and send signals in a 360º radius. They are best for boosting signal on many different carriers and are excellent in most situations where the existing outside signal strength is moderate to strong. The indoor antenna is a SureCall SC-121W right-angle whip antenna. It has 3 dBi of gain. It is an omni-directional antenna that connects directly to the amplifier unit.

The Fusion4Home Yagi/Whip (SC-PolyH-72-YRA-Kit) is suitable for locations with weaker existing outside signal (1+ bars) and will cover up to 3,000 sq ft internally (2-4 rooms). The outside antenna is a SureCall SC-231W yagi antenna. It is a directional antenna with up to 10 dBi of gain. It needs to be set up pointing in the direction of the cell tower. It’s very powerful at picking up weak signal in one particular direction. The indoor antenna is (like above) a SureCall SC-121W right-angle whip antenna. It has 3 dBi of gain. It is an omni-directional antenna that connects directly to the amplifier unit.

The Fusion4Home Yagi/Panel (SC-PolyH-72-YP-Kit) this kit is suitable for locations with weaker existing outside signal (1+ bars) and will cover up to 4,000 sq ft internally (a small home). The outside antenna is (like above) a SureCall SC-231W yagi antenna. This is a directional antenna with up to 10 dBi of gain. It needs to be set up pointing in the direction of the cell tower. It’s very powerful at picking up weak signal in one particular direction. The indoor antenna is a SureCall SC-248W panel antenna. It is a directional antenna with up to 10dB gain. Panel antennas allow optimum reception to targeted areas. It can be mounted to either the wall or ceiling.

The kit also includes 50’ of RG6 cable to connect the outside antenna to the amplifier unit, and 20’ of SC-240 cable to connect the amplifier unit to the indoor panel antenna.

For larger homes and offices:

SureCall offers two different options for larger homes and offices from up to 6,000 to 20,000 sq ft. The Fusion5s and Fusion5X both boost 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE voice and data on all carriers.

Fusion 5/5s/5X comparison chart

The Fusion5s covers up to 2,000 sq ft with weak existing outside signal and 6,000 sq ft with strong outside signal. It can be customized to maximise coverage in either scenario. Outside, it has a choice of either the omnidirectional SC-288W outdoor antenna, or the directional yagi SC-230W antenna.

It also has choice of indoor antennas. Like other kits above, there is a choice of either the SC-222W omni dome antenna or the SC-248W directional panel antenna. Both are excellent choices, depending on your building layout. The omni dome antenna has 6dB gain and is designed for central locations with 360º coverage. It needs to be mounted to the ceiling for best results and you will need to run a cable to the back of the ceiling. Alternatively, the directional panel antenna has up to 10dB gain. Panel antennas allow optimum reception to targeted areas. It can be mounted to either the wall or ceiling.

The other option for larger homes and offices is the Fusion5X. The Fusion5X is one of SureCall’s newest products. Coverage includes 4G LTE, and it boosts all major US and Canadian carriers. It will cover up to 10,000 sq ft with weak existing outside signal and 20,000 sq ft with strong outside signal.

One of the biggest attractions of the Fusion5X is that it is extremely installation-friendly. It is the first booster from SureCall that does not include attenuation knobs. Instead of you adjusting gain manually, sophisticated internal software will automatically and continuously optimize gain ensuring the Fusion5X is always operating at maximum performance.

The outdoor antenna is the omnidirectional SC-288W outdoor antenna and four indoor antennas (with cabling and splitters) are automatically included. There is a choice of either four SC-222W omni dome antennas or four SC-248W directional panel antennas, depending on your building layout.

Combined Cellular, WiFi and HDTV:

The SureCall Fusion 7 kit is the first all major carrier Voice/3G/4G LTE and WiFi, HDTV signal booster system. It’s a great choice for small businesses, professionals, and luxury homes.

This 3-In-1 solution boosts 2G/3G/4G/LTE voice and data on all US and Canadian cell carriers. The built-in Wi-Fi router provides fast and reliable data and extends network coverage within the home. The HDTV booster removes the need for cable or satellite television as it brings all locally aired HDTV television stations into your home. The built-in Wi-Fi allows for greatly enhanced streaming video through Netflix® and other on-demand streaming media providers.

The SureCall Fusion7 covers up to 20,000 sq ft and supports 5-10 simultaneous users. It comes with a choice of either four SC-222W omni dome antennas or four SC-248W directional panel antennas.

Large Buildings

We recommend a custom quote for a very large building solution. Our team of signal experts has helped hundreds of companies improve signal in buildings, from 30,000 sq ft all the way up to up to 500,000 sq. ft. We've designed and installed systems in shopping malls, apartment complexes, hospitals, large nuclear power plants, industrial warehouses among many others.

SureCall make a variety of booster systems that are used in large building situations. In some cases, the Fusion5 (up to 10,000 sq ft) or the Fusion5X (up to 20,000 sq ft), which are discussed above, may be suitable.

The next coverage level up from that is the SureCall Force5, which covers up to 25,000 sq ft. The Force5 is one of the most popular kits we offer.

The Force 5 is a self-contained, five-band, Voice/3G/4G LTE cellular signal booster. There’s a choice of two outdoor antennas. The SC-288W omni outdoor antenna has 4dB of gain and is excellent in most situations where the existing outside signal strength is moderate to strong. Alternatively, the SC-230W-S yagi outdoor antenna has up to 8dB of gain. It’s very powerful at picking up weak signal in one particular direction, and we recommend it for situations where existing outside signal is weak, and you only want to boost coverage for one carrier (or if more than one carrier has a cell tower in that direction).

There are also several indoor antenna options. Like previous kits above, there is a choice of either the SC-222W omni dome antenna or the SC-248W directional panel antenna. The Force5 kit can also be ordered in multiple sizes of 1,2, or 4 inside antennas (including cabling and splitters). If you are hoping to cover multiple stories, or opposite sides of a large building, you will need additional antennas to achieve the 25,000 sq ft maximum coverage the Force 5 can offer.

SureCall also offers two industrial-class boosters. The Force 5 Industrial and the Force 7 Industrial are both approved by the FCC to be sold as part of custom-designed solutions by professional installers. Customers interested in these products can contact us by calling 800-761-3041 or using this form.

The SureCall Force5 Industrial grade booster is a powerful 80 dB linear signal amplifier. It’s suitable for large commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hospitals and apartment complexes and more. The Industrial Force 5 can boost signal for areas up to 80,000 square feet and support over 100 users per band. It’s a reasonably priced alternative to a costly and complex DAS integration.

The Force 7 Industrial is a commercial-grade all-in-one cellular, wifi, and HDTV signal booster. It offers coverage for large buildings up to 80,000 sq ft. It supports 100+ simultaneous users, making it a great choice for apartment buildings, schools, hotels, and other commercial applications. The comprehensive solution it offers for cell signal, wifi, and HDTV makes it a particularly great choice for new and renovated buildings.

As a signal booster, it boosts 2G/3G/4G/LTE voice and data on all US and Canadian cell carriers. The built-in Wi-Fi router provides fast and reliable data and extends network coverage for areas up to 50,000 square feet. The HDTV booster removes the need for cable or satellite television as it receives and amplifies all locally-aired HDTV television stations, such as ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and PBS, offering coverage for up to 35 televisions.

SureCall Sentry

The SureCall Sentry is a popular add-on for large industrial signal booster kits. The Sentry is a remote monitoring and control system. It allows building managers to remotely monitor and adjust performance from a computer. It can immediately notify installers or end-users via email about system failures or overpowering. It identifies the strongest signal strength available during installation, and identifies malfunctions due to unforeseen changes like newly installed cell towers.
