Description
The weBoost (Wilson) 50 ohm Lightning Arrestor (850050) is an inline surge protector that can be used with 50 Ohm weBoost and Wilson Electronics installations. It protects the amplifier system from lightning strikes to the outside antenna, and replaces the discontinued 859902 surge protector.
The unit is installed inline between the antenna and the amplifier. Protection is given by a 90V gas tube element, which can be replaced to provide multistrike capacity. A ground lug and terminal are supplied directly on the protector housing, and the weather-resistant construction allows either indoor or outdoor mounting.
The protector does not connect directly with the amplifier, and a small length of cable is needed. You can use the Wilson400 coaxial cable for this purpose.
The lightning arrestor has N-Female connectors on both sides. The attenuation is less than 0.2 dB and it supports frequency ranges from DC to 5.8 GHz — wider than the 3000 MHz of the 859902 it replaces, so it passes Sub-6 5G bands as well as LTE. Protection is bi-directional, and the operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
