The eero Pro 7 is a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh router built for homes with fast internet and many devices running at once. It adds a 6 GHz band alongside 2.4 and 5 GHz, two 5 GbE ports, and built-in support for Zigbee, Thread, and Matter.

It’s a good fit for multi-gig internet, newer Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 devices that support 6 GHz, or mesh systems where the units will connect wirelessly instead of over Ethernet. It supports internet plans up to 5 Gbps and more than 200 connected devices.

Each unit covers up to 2,000 sq ft, the same as eero 7, but Pro 7 provides more capacity for busy networks and better performance when mesh units connect wirelessly. If you’re only trying to extend coverage into another room and your plan is 2.5 Gbps or slower, consider eero 7. For internet plans above 5 Gbps, consider eero Max 7. It adds 10 GbE connectivity to support faster internet service and high-speed wired devices.

• Tri-band Wi-Fi 7: Wi-Fi 7 across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands, rated BE10800 with up to 3.9 Gbps wireless throughput. 
• Adds the 6 GHz band: The newer 6 GHz spectrum is less crowded than 2.4 and 5 GHz and is available to compatible Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 devices. It also supports channels up to 320 MHz, twice the widest available on 5 GHz.
  
• Better wireless mesh performance: The third radio gives eero units another band for communicating with each other, reducing how much mesh traffic competes with devices on 5 GHz. 
• Multi-Link Operation: Allows compatible Wi-Fi 7 devices to use more than one band at the same time, reducing latency and helping maintain performance when one band becomes congested.
  
• Two 5 GbE ports: Either port can connect to your modem, ONT, or gateway. The second can provide a multi-gig wired connection for a computer, console, NAS, switch, or another eero. Wired throughput is rated up to 4.7 Gbps.
• Coverage for up to 2,000 sq ft: Actual coverage depends on placement, layout, and building materials. Brick, concrete, multiple floors, and dense interior walls may require closer node spacing.
• Support for 200+ devices: Built to keep more than 200 phones, laptops, smart home devices, cameras, and other connected devices online.
• Built-in smart home support: Acts as a Matter controller and Thread border router, with Zigbee support through Alexa. This can remove the need for a separate smart home hub in many setups.
• Core features without a subscription: WPA3 encryption, automatic software updates, guest Wi-Fi, device profiles, device pausing, and speed tests are included with the hardware.
• Simple app management: Set up the network, view connected devices, create profiles, pause access, and manage the system remotely through the eero app.

Optional eero Plus subscription:
Adds ad blocking, content filtering, app blocking, advanced security, VPN, antivirus, and activity history. Subscription pricing and sign-up are available through the eero app.

Internet Service

Works with any internet service that provides an Ethernet connection, including cable, fiber, DSL, fixed wireless, cellular modems, and 4G or 5G home internet gateways. It’s also compatible with eero Built-in on select Amazon Echo devices.

App and Account

Setup and management require the eero app on iOS, Android, or the Amazon Appstore and a free eero account. There’s no web-based admin interface.

Modem or Gateway Required

eero Pro 7 replaces your router, not the modem, ONT, or cellular gateway that provides your internet connection. The gateway eero connects to that equipment over Ethernet.

If your ISP supplied a combined modem and router, eero recommends putting that equipment into bridge mode. For 4G or 5G home internet gateways that don’t offer bridge mode, you may need to use IP passthrough or accept a double NAT setup, depending on the gateway.

Older eero Units

eero Pro 7 works with previous eero generations. Mixing generations can reduce performance across the network, so using the same generation throughout gives the best results.

Smart Home Support

eero Pro 7 acts as a Matter controller and Thread border router, with Zigbee support through Alexa. It doesn’t function as a bridge that converts Zigbee devices into Matter devices.

Power and Placement

Each unit uses the included 27W USB-C power adapter and is designed for indoor use only.
