How It Works

The Verizon 4G LTE Network Extender 3 functions as an enterprise-grade femtocell or small cell, creating a private LTE network within your facility. Here’s how it works:

• The device connects to your internet connection via Ethernet.
• It establishes a secure IPSec tunnel to Verizon’s network over the internet.
• The extender broadcasts a 4G LTE signal across your building, ensuring devices are always connected, even when macro signal is weak.
• As users move into the building, the device automatically hands off their connection from the outdoor cellular network to the extender’s coverage zone. This ensures no dropped calls or interruptions in service.

System Requirements

To use the Verizon 4G LTE Network Extender 3 for Enterprise, the following requirements must be met:

1. Internet Connection
   Minimum 20 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload speeds (50 Mbps / 20 Mbps recommended for optimal performance).
2. GPS Connectivity
   Requires a clear GPS signal. The included magnetic-mount antenna must be placed near a window. Outdoor antennas can also be used for better signal strength.
3. Verizon Enterprise Account
   A Verizon Enterprise or Business account is necessary to activate the device. If you don’t have one, select “Registered by Waveform” at checkout, and we’ll handle the registration for you.
4. Compatible Devices
   Works with HD Voice (VoLTE) devices, including most iPhones (iPhone 6 and newer) and Samsung Galaxy S5 and later.
5. Firewall Configuration
   You may need to open the following ports or place the device in a Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) for it to communicate with Verizon’s network: Ports 50, 500, 4500, 53, and 52428.

If your building doesn’t meet these requirements or you need multi-carrier coverage, consider one of our cell signal boosters instead.

The Verizon Network Extender 3 for Enterprise must be linked to a Verizon Enterprise account.

Registered by Waveform: We handle registration, provide remote monitoring, and act as your support liaison.

Unregistered: If you already manage your own Enterprise account, you can self-register; Note that this limits our insight into your device and our ability to provide comprehensive support.

PCTEL GPS Antenna with Integrated Lightning Protection
If your device is far from a window or in an area with Low-E windows, we recommend an outdoor GPS antenna for optimal signal strength. The PCTel GPS antenna doesn't include any mounting hardware, so this mount kit will take care of that for you.

Lightning Surge Protector
Protect your device from power surges with an optional surge protector installed between the GPS antenna and the extender.
